for the Immersion Therapy™ Service
What we DO NOT offer
Determined2® DOES NOT OFFER lessons in Scuba diving. We do not teach or certify open water diving. Immersion Therapy™ is not Scuba diving.
Clearances and Insurances
All Determined2® staff have received and passed full Department of Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) background checks including Aged Care Sector Employment, Child Related Employment, Disability Services Employment, General Employment Probity, Vulnerable Person Related Employment.

Fitness to Participate
There are no physical restrictions to accessing Immersion Therapy™. All clients will undergo a Medical Assessment with an approved doctor before any full-body Immersion sessions take place. The assessment is done in line with the Immersion Therapy™ Key Medical Standards. You must have first attended a Meet and Greet session prior to receiving assessment.
Determined2® will provide you with a list of approved doctors at the Meet and Greet session and we will also make an initial assessment classification about your service suitability.
The certificate received as part of the Immersion Therapy™ assessment is not a Fitness to Dive certificate. The document certifies the client as medically fit to participate in Immersion Therapy™. The certificate is not valid for any other purpose. The certificate DOES NOT certify fitness to participate in open water diving or in any use of Scuba equipment outside of the authorised application of Immersion Therapy™. The certificate is to be used in conjunction with the approved Policies and Procedures of Immersion Therapy™, and the applicant must comply with those Policies and Procedures as well as the instructions of approved Immersion Therapy™ providers.
Participant to Staff Ratios
The Immersion Therapy™ service is delivered in line with the Immersion Therapy™ guidelines and the clients’ classification. All staff members have been specially trained under the Immersion Therapy™ training standards and guidelines.
The use of Scuba equipment can be unsafe and very dangerous for younger children. In line with medical guidelines, we do not offer the use of Scuba equipment to children under the age of 10. For further information, you should seek professional advice from your local hyperbaric specialist. You can find your local specialist by visiting the SPUMS website (www.spums.org.au/).
We can include children under 10 without the equipment — for example using a snorkel or swimming. However, they must have some level of competency in water, as we do not teach swimming.
Cancellations and No-Shows
Determined2® operates a strict full-fee 48-hour cancellation policy. Determined2 will send an email confirmation to the participant at the time the participant’s session is booked and an SMS and email reminder to the participant 48 hours prior to the session. The participant will be expected to respond to email and/or SMS confirming their attendance. In the instance there is no response from the participant, it will be assumed they will not be attending their session. The missed session will be classified as a ‘no show’ and will incur a full fee that the participant may be personally liable for. When the participant provides 48 hours’ notice for nonattendance Determined2 will reschedule the participant’s session to an agreed time. In the instance the participant confirms attendance and does not attend, without giving notice, the missed session will be classified as a ‘no show’ and incur a full fee that the participant may be personally liable for. If the participant cancels their booking and provides notice of 48 hours or more, Determined2 will reschedule the participant’s session to an agreed time. Exceptional circumstances will be considered, and it will be at the discretion of Determined2 to conclude if the full fee will apply. The participant may be personally liable if the full fee is applied. If the participant has two recorded ‘no shows’, and there are no exceptional circumstances for nonattendance, Determined2 may cancel this contract. If Determined2 is unable to provide services due to exceptional circumstances, less than 48 hours prior to the participant’s session, Determined2 will notify the participant by phone and/or email and/or SMS and reschedule the participant’s session to an agreed time. Where possible, Determined2 will provide the participant with maximum notice if there are any upcoming known disruptions to the participant’s sessions.
